Welcome to the IT Department Intranet Page. This page contains information about our department and its operations. Our department is staffed by three full time team members, who oversee the operations of our two on-site data centers, cloud storage facility, 75 desktop PCs, 14 Multimedia classrooms, 2 computer labs, and the public work stations in the library. The Information Technology department also assists in the development and management of our campus web servers, databases, and the online learning environment for our Deaconate Distant Learning program. We are routinely involved in many customer driven initiatives around campus.

Our Mission

We are a customer service driven organization. My goal as the Director is to promote transparency in our operations, provide for continued improvement in customer support, provide the technological resources necessary to support the formational and education goals of this institution, and to promote more effective processes and efficient means of disseminating information.

Recent Production Planning Minutes

Our department holds regularly scheduled production meetings where we discuss current projects and action items that we intend to address over the course of following week. Here you will find a copy of the minutes of our most recent meetings. At approximately 12:30 PM we received notification that people are not able to make outbound calls. It appears that inbound calls are being processed and received. However, outbound calls are not. We have rebooted the phone system and reset the circuits on our end. This has not cleared the issue...

WIFI Solutions will be in tomorrow to look into reports of dropped signals. They will be here between 2:00 and 2:30 PM on Friday. I hope to get the guest WIFI set up then as well. I will let you know.

Gordon Mott has reported that some students in Alumni Hall are having DNS connection issues. This could be the result of a rogue router or a other network issue. We will be working on this Thursday and Friday of this week and will tweet our findings.

We have begun work on a helpdesk system. This system will provide users easy access to training blogs, articles, and videos on various PC related activities. I We anticipate that is will take approximately two months to complete. So, stay tuned!

WOW's contractors have rooted out most of the trouble devices and corrected the configurations errors in their set-up. Around 3PM today they finished their troubleshooting, pulled all of the APs back into one network, and turned roaming on so that everyone can move between buildings without loosing connection. From what I can tell it looks like most of the people that could not connect earlier are now connecting. If anyone is still having issues email me....
