AT&T is still working on the phone lines. It appears the line on high street has failed. Multiple businesses are out as a result. Line crews and excavation crews were dispatched this morning at 7:30 to begin repairs. AT&T estimates that it may take 10 hours to repair the lines. AT&T may need to come on campus and reconfigure our main phone trunk lines after the repair is made on high street. This means that we will not have inbound or outbound phone service until this evening or possibly tomorrow morning. I will continue to re-route all of our inbound 885-5585 traffic to Tracy Becker's phone until this gets corrected. [UPDATE 8, Dec. 2:00 PM] AT&T reports that that are still working on the phone issue. They have patched most of the inbound lines and have restored outbound calling. These circuits may go up an down for the next four hours. However, as it stands we have most of our phone services back. Once the repairs are complete I will reroute the calls on 885-5585 back to the switchboard.

The inbound and outbound phone circuits from the phone company are down. We can make phone calls to others on campus. However, we can not receive or send outbound phone calls. The phone company has been notified and a service ticket opened. There is no indication as to when the phone service will be restored. I am going to set up call routing on our main number and have it forward to Tracy Becker's phone.

Around 7:50 the campus lost power. AEP reset the College building circuits and brought that build on-line first. After AEP reset these circuits, the Administration, Theology, and Library buildings did not come back on-line. It appears that a short developed in the underground power utility between the powerhouse and kitchen area. These lines, which are owned and managed by AEP, were quickly repaired by the utility company. Power was restored to the rest of the campus shortly before noon. Once the power was restored (approx 11:50), we began the process of restarting the servers and switches. The WIFI was brought back on-line to all areas of campus by 2:30. All services should now be operational. If you have can not get to the internet or are having any printer or computer issues fill our a work order or call Tracy Brockman or Myself.

[posted 10/15]The backup projector bulb is blown in the projector. The original projector is back from the vendors. They will be installing it today. It looks like the flicker issue did not originate with the projector. The problem may be in the video switcher or in the power. If the flicker continues after replacing the projector then the techs may have to pull the switcher. I will update this blog as the troubleshooting on this issue progresses. [10/21] The AV room system is operational again.
