Welcome to the IT Department Intranet Page. This page contains information about our department and its operations. Our department is staffed by three full time team members, who oversee the operations of our two on-site data centers, cloud storage facility, 75 desktop PCs, 14 Multimedia classrooms, 2 computer labs, and the public work stations in the library. The Information Technology department also assists in the development and management of our campus web servers, databases, and the online learning environment for our Deaconate Distant Learning program. We are routinely involved in many customer driven initiatives around campus.

Our Mission

We are a customer service driven organization. My goal as the Director is to promote transparency in our operations, provide for continued improvement in customer support, provide the technological resources necessary to support the formational and education goals of this institution, and to promote more effective processes and efficient means of disseminating information.

Recent Production Planning Minutes

Our department holds regularly scheduled production meetings where we discuss current projects and action items that we intend to address over the course of following week. Here you will find a copy of the minutes of our most recent meetings. Over the course of the summer, the IT department upgraded all of the PCJ owned PCs on campus. We have now standardized around the windows 10 platform and office 2016.

Most of the mozilla Firefox browsers on campus have stopped updating. We have identified the issue and have put together a patch to fix this problem. We will be testing that patch Monday. Once we are satisfied it works we will push the patch up to everyone that is in our network.

Over the Christmas break we will be performing system wide backups and moving our documents to a new server. Also, we will be setting up printers on the wireless network for those student who want to print from their laptops. If left your computer on, then you will need to reboot it before you can access your My Documents folder.

AT&T, XO Communications and WOW have completed their line modifications. We experienced approximately 30 minutes of down time in the system. All inbound numbers are functional.

[9:00 AM] Network disruptions have been noted. This appears to be a hardware configuration issue that is connected to recent firewall updates. We have restored most of the connectivity on campus. We have contacted the vendor and the Network Engineer that works on the Firewall and they are looking into the issue.
